News Release

(Prince Edward County) The Japanese Macaque monkey that has been loose in Prince Edward County for almost 48 hours was captured just after 10:00 am today and has been safely returned to his enclosure.

Prince Edward Canine Control officers, Prince Edward OPP and the Bergeron's located Julian the missin monkey about half a kilometer south and east of the Bergeron's zoo this morning in a wooded swampy area. A tranquilizer gun was used to sedate the animal so that it may be captured and returned to its home.

No one, including the moneky was injured in the incident. It is still unclear how the monkey escaped from its enclosure.
